Nevo speaks in schools and workplaces about transgender identity and gender diversity. They wear their heart on their sleeve and tell their life story and experience growing up as a tomboy, lesbian, transgender man and later as non-binary in a Jewish community. They have written a memoir titled Finding Nevo that has become a resource for LGBTIQA+ people and their families to better understand gender diversity. This book has recently won the Australian Family Therapists Award as a useful text. They have mentored and helped many young trans people with their own journeys and is a contact point in the Jewish community for people grappling with gender and sexuality in their own lives.
Nevo goesinto workplaces and teaches about unconscious bias, recruitment and runs workshops around effective allyship. They have also recently begun working for Transgender Victoria as an LGBTIQA+ Presenter.
They have been on Triple J's Hack Live discussing male privilege from the perspective of a trans person who has moved in the world perceived as both a woman and a man. They were on Channel 7's Morning Show with their mum discussing my book and influenced them to use they/them pronouns for what I believe was the first time. They have done many radio interviews and put themself on the front-line of transgender advocacy because there are so many people who feel they cannot handle it with everything else they are battling.
Nevo has the privileges and platforms to champion these issues and make a change.
